John, Trump and DeSantis had a showdown this past weekend in Iowa, targeting blue-collar, middle America.
The MAGA GOP has strategically targeted College Football as their means to take the Electoral Map, and here's why:
Small towns don't have pro teams. They can't always be found on national TV. Yet college teams have loyal followings like none other. Their fans grew up wearing the colors and rooting not just for the team but for their hometown.
Republicans see this formula of steadfast allegiance and have acted fast to court it into political identity. Tommy Tuberville and Herschel Walker were nominated for particular reasons.
MAGA is acting on a strategy. And while Trump and DeSantis pitched themselves before receptive audiences that the GOP has groomed for years, Democrats have yet to see the college gridiron for the ripe field of young voters that it is.
