Dear Friends and Community Members,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the Fall weather. This time of year has always been my favorite.

Today, I am announcing that I will not be seeking re-election to serve a fourth term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. It has been my great honor and privilege to represent our community at the Minnesota Capitol for the past 5 years.

From working on disability rights – to the intersection of public safety and mental health –  to the importance of ensuring every child graduates knowing how to read – I have been dedicated to policies that improve the lives of Minnesotans and make our communities safer and more accessible.

I'm proud of my office's achievements around youth engagement. Over the years we have built and delivered State youth programming and partnerships with high schools in collaboration with fellow moms from our community (Kelly Streit and Nassim Rossi - thank you for your dedication to empowering young people). We launched the non-partisan ‘Intern for a Day’ program and '3 week Summer Policy Internship' in 2019 and successfully have brought over 600 high school students to the Capitol to get a glance behind the curtain on how our State government operates and public policy is created. Many State Reps are now following our lead!

My intent is to finish my third term working as hard for our community as I did when I was first elected. My term ends on Monday January 6, 2025 – with one more session to serve as your State Representative and a little over a year left in this role.

Session begins on February 12, 2024 and will end the third week in May. As always, if there is an issue you would like to work on, feel free to reach out by emailing: [email protected]

Finally, I ran for office as someone who believes in lifting up different people from our communities to have the opportunity to lead. There are a lot of impressive people doing great work locally that will offer valuable perspectives on the issues facing our community and State. I truly am excited to see all the talented leaders that will step up to run in for the November 5, 2024 election.

Thank you for your support over the past 5 years. A special thanks to my husband and our kids for always being my biggest fan.

To friends and community members, I could not have done this job without YOU showing up to vote, helping to knock on doors, make calls, hosting fundraisers, putting up lawn signs (and picking them up). I will forever be grateful to each and every one of you.

I truly look forward to what the future holds. I remain optimistic and hopeful.

Together, as a community and as a State, I know we can do great things.

Sincerely,

P.S. If you would like to reach me in the future, please use this email: [email protected].
