Dangerous "Reproductive Health Act" will remove surgical abortion clinic regulations and remove longstanding protections for women!

Dear Friends,

We have an urgent request. Dangerous legislation known as the "Reproductive Health Act" (RHA) will be introduced to Michigan legislators Thursday (the 14th). This bill package calls for the repeal of many common sense abortion regulations designed to protect women's health and safety.

Among the 17 bills, the "RHA" would remove the following:

  • Abortion clinic licensing regulations.
  • Informed consent provisions including a 24-hr waiting period.
  • The Medicaid funding ban (which prevents your tax dollars from paying for elective abortions).
  • Screening for coercion prior to an abortion.
  • Partial birth abortion ban.
  • Born alive infant protection law.
  • Humane disposal of fetal remains.

Polling shows that over 90% of Michigan voters support regulation that requires abortion facilities to be licensed and inspected by the state for health and safety reasons—ask your legislators WHY they don’t!

MCC earlier this year issued polling results conducted by Marketing Resource Group that showed large majorities of Michigan voters support the 24-hour reflection period as well as keeping health and safety standards on abortion clinics, in addition to the parental consent requirement for minors’ abortions.

ACTION NEEDED:

Reach out to the legislators on the House Health Policy Committee TODAY! Now is the time to TAKE ACTION against this abortion industry legislation that wants to remove common sense health and safety standards for women.

Call, email, or text each legislator and ask them to vote NO on the Reproductive Health Act. Tell them you support informed consent, abortion clinic health regulations, and the Medicaid funding ban for elective abortions.
