Dear John,

As published in the Guardian today, new analysis by PAN UK reveals that there are now 36 pesticides that can be used in the UK that are not currently allowed in EU countries. Of those, thirteen are considered Highly Hazardous Pesticides including four that are highly toxic to bees, one that contaminates water and one that is highly toxic to aquatic organisms. Analysis reveals a growing threat to human health as the list also includes a number of carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, developmental or reproductive toxins, among others. PAN UK joins the Agroecology Coalition

We’re pleased to announce that PAN UK recently joined the Agroecology Coalition. The purpose of the Coalition is to accelerate the transformation of food systems guided by the 13 principles of agroecology defined by the High-Level Panel of Experts (HLPE) of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) adopted by 197 FAO Members in 2019. Various ongoing initiatives and policies implemented by governments, producer and civil society organisations, or research institutions on all continents and across all scales, attest to the potential of agroecological approaches to respond to the multiple challenges facing food systems.

If you would like to donate in support of our work we would very much appreciate it. Thank you.
