Dear John,
I recently read a book called The Fourth Turning, by William Strauss and Neil Howe. It is a prescient book that over twenty years ago predicted where we are today. I highly recommend the read.
The bottom line is this: things could go either way. We can descend into greater chaos, or we can emerge into the greatest chapter of American history. The point is, the decision is ours.
And it is a decision that each of us must make.
Obviously, I have made mine. I am running for President because I believe that in order to meet this historical moment we must be willing to change: Wisely. Compassionately. Responsibly. But fundamentally. |
There are simply too many stress points in our country and on our planet. From income inequality and economic injustice, to environmental irresponsibility at a time of increasing weather peril, to health challenges both physical and mental, we need to look much more deeply at what’s happening in this country than the political status quo is willing to do. We continue to apply 20th century solutions to 21st century problems, and if we continue this way we will only continue our trajectory of division and decline.
Yet there is another way - a better way - and with the right leadership I believe the American people would be ready to embrace it. We can put democratic and humanitarian values before soulless economic principles. We can put the needs of our people before the profits of corporations. And we can make our commitment to love and justice so great, that the purveyors of hatred and fear cannot touch us. Please visit my platform to learn more about how.
I am running for President to help spearhead a movement for change in America. It is not a job that one person, or a hundred, or even a thousand can achieve. It is something that will take a massive rise in consciousness and activism.
With that, we will manifest victory. |
