John,

In just six weeks, at Antisemitism: Face It, Fight It, hundreds of Jewish Canadians and our allies will come together in Ottawa to take on the fight against antisemitism.

They will hear from more than thirty experts, thought leaders, and influencers from across the globe about current manifestations of antisemitism and, as part of a united community, what we can do about them. Explore the full roster of speakers here.

Will you be joining them?

In this brief message, CIJA President and CEO Shimon Koffler Fogel explains why you should!

We are also excited to announce that, on Tuesday, October 17, the Honourable Irwin Cotler, one of the world’s foremost human rights advocates, who led the charge for Canada to implement the Magnitsky Law, and whose past pro-bono legal clients include Natan Sharansky and Nelson Mandela, will be honoured with a lifetime achievement award in recognition of his enduring commitment to the pursuit of justice for all people and the advancement of human rights for the world’s most vulnerable and oppressed.

As the founding chair of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, and Canada's first Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism, Irwin Cotler has played a critical role in advancing efforts to address antisemitism in Canada and internationally and to preserve the lessons of the Holocaust through education, remembrance, and research.

Mr. Cotler's dedication to the Jewish community merits not only appreciation and acknowledgement but also profound gratitude. CIJA is proud to present this award to recognize a life of commitment and sacrifice that has improved the lives of so many.
