Just minutes ago we took Trump to court over his administration's flagrant failure to save endangered species.
Our latest lawsuit seeks protection for 241 species, making this one of the largest cases ever brought under the Endangered Species Act.

Among the species we went to court to secure protection for are spotted turtles in the Great Lakes and Eastern Seaboard, moose in the Midwest, the limestone salamander in California and the western bumblebee.
Under the Act, decisions on whether to protect a plant or animal should take no more than two years. But most of the species in today's lawsuit have been languishing 10 years or more.
Four years ago the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service developed a plan to address a backlog of more than 500 species awaiting protection decisions, including those we're taking legal action for today.
But the Trump administration has stopped the agency from doing what it needs to do. So now we're in court to save these species from vanishing forever.
These species are running out of time. They need protection now, before it's too late.
