Friend, search and rescue efforts continue in Morocco after the strongest earthquake in 120 years struck late Friday night. The 6.8-magnitude earthquake has affected more than 300,000 people. Thanks to the support of generous donors like you, our partner SAMU has emergency responders on the ground near Adassil, a village southwest of Marrakech. They are:
• |
Providing medical care to survivors with two Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances.
• |
Searching for survivors with four rescue specialists and two dogs.

Project HOPE and SAMU have partnered to save lives in numerous global crises, including the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria earlier this year. With your support, we've remained there since, supporting long-term recovery efforts including mental health care, shelter containers for displaced health workers and mobile medical units.
