The most serious blockage, of course, is the DNC’s refusal to hold presidential debates.
The people of the United States have a right to hear from other candidates, with other ideas than those of President Biden. This is not a time in our history for people to acquiesce to any form of control over things that will affect our lives and the lives of our children.
Candidate suppression is a form of voter suppression, and the party that purports to be the champion of democracy should not be so wary of it in our own house. The Democratic Party must allow President Biden to debate his opponents. The fate of our democracy is at stake, and only more democracy can save it.
To be clear, political debates have always been part of the American political landscape. From our Founding Fathers debating the formation of a new nation to Lincoln-Douglas, Kennedy-Nixon and the 2020 Democratic Presidential Debates, American voters have always expected and counted on relevant and spirited political discourse between candidates to decide who should lead our democracy.
Our nation is at a crucial juncture and voters need to see all the candidates, on stage talking about the issues that affect them. Yet the Establishment Media and Establishment Democratic Party are increasingly concerned about what it would mean to have all that media attention on anyone other than President Biden.
The Democratic National Committee and its allies in the political-media-industrial-complex are again trying to rig the Democratic Presidential nomination, and it’s important that we not let them.
