John, this is a different email than I usually send.
Today, I want to share one of my treasured pastimes with you.

One of my favorite hobbies is surfing. I am grateful that we have great surfing off our miles of beautiful coastline. Our communities across the district are fortunate to have an abundance of wonderful outdoor activities and beautiful parks to enjoy.
As a mom and someone who grew up here, it was important to me to raise my three wonderful children in Orange County and give them every opportunity to experience the outdoors.
But now our coastline, parks, and general wellbeing are under threat because of the climate crisis. That is one of the reasons I decided to run for office –
to take action on climate change to protect my kids, all families across Orange County and the US, and to protect our natural spaces. This will be one of my top priorities when I take office.
All this to say, John: Orange County is a special place.
But Scott Baugh, my likely Republican opponent, wants to roll back environmental protections and is already seeing support from national Republicans. We know that this seat is a top target for Republicans this cycle, and we need all the help we can get to win.
