Humor Full of wit and wonder, Tobin Mitnick's new book Must Love Trees, explores one man’s obsession with all things arboreal—from the masochistic pleasures of growing bonsais to the hug-ability of different species (coast redwoods get an A+ for offering a “fire-resistant shmoopie-fest“). Education A new generation of redwoods enthusiasts A trip to the redwoods can bring joy to anyone, but for a young child, the awe-inspiring experience of looking up at the tall trees for the first time can change the course of their life. Learn how the League has brought 72,000 youths to the magical redwoods through its education programs. Progress Epic makeover at a former redwood mill site in Humboldt County Coho salmon and steelhead trout rediscovered a stretch of Prairie Creek this summer after crews restored a 1,000-foot section of streambed that had been degraded by timber mill operations. It's all part of the League's ongoing transformation of the 125-acre mill site into a world-class redwoods destination at the southern end of Redwood National and State Parks.
