Featured Funding OpportunitiesPathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing)Communities nationwide are suffering from a lack of affordable housing, and housing production is not meeting the increasing demand for accessible and available units in many urban and rural areas, particularly areas of high opportunity. Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) supports communities who are actively taking steps to remove barriers to affordable housing.Grantees may use awards to further develop, evaluate, and implement housing policy plans, improve housing strategies, and facilitate affordable housing production and preservation. Eligible applicants are local and state governments, metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), and multijurisdictional entities.The application deadline is October 30, 2023, at 11:59pm ETInspire! Grants for Small Museums (2024) – America’s 250th AnniversaryInspire! Grants for Small Museums is a special initiative of the Museums for America program. It is designed to support small museums of all disciplines in project-based efforts to serve the public through exhibitions, educational/interpretive programs, digital learning resources, policy development and institutional planning, technology enhancements, professional development, community outreach, audience development, and/or collections management, curation, care, and conservation.For the FY2024 grant cycle, the IMLS invites applications that commemorate America’s 250th anniversary as part of the agency’s IMLS250: All Stories, All People, All Places initiative. IMLS believes that the semiquincentennial is an opportunity to commemorate all lived experiences through civic engagement, public programs, and collections stewardship in preparation for 2026.Applications must be submitted by November 15, 2023Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grants ProgramThe U.S. Department of Labor announced the availability of $65 million to increase community colleges’ ability to provide equitable access to training to meet employers’ and workers’ skill development needs for in-demand industries. In the fourth round of funding, the Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grants will concentrate on the capacity of community colleges to address identified equity gaps to increase access to educational and economic opportunities for dislocated workers and new entrants to the workforce, as well as employed workers seeking to advance in their careers, particularly for individuals from historically underserved communities.A pre-recorded Webinar and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) will be available by approximately September 12, 2023. Applications must be submitted by November 14, 2023 Small Business ResourcesMeat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program (MPPEP) - Phase 2This provides grants to help eligible processors expand their processing capacity, which create new, better and more processing options for meat and poultry producers. USDA Rural Development designed the MPPEP to encourage competition and sustainable growth in the U.S. meat processing sector, and to help improve supply chain resiliency.All MPPEP applications must be received by 11:59 pm Eastern Time on November 22, 2023.New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC)The NYSBDC provides small business owners and entrepreneurs in New York with the highest quality, confidential business counseling, training, and business research at no cost.The Albany Small Business Development Center serves small businesses in the Capital Region.
