Colleagues,

It was good seeing many of you last week for the Council’s event, Understanding the PROVE IT Act. If you were unable to join us, you can view the recording here
At the event, Senators Chris Coons (D-DE) and Kevin Cramer (R-ND) discussed their PROVE IT Act which would codify through official government data what Council research has already shown: U.S. manufacturers across industries are highly carbon efficient compared to most other countries. Proving America’s carbon advantage could have massive implications for our manufacturers’ competitive standing, our geopolitical and national security goals, and, most importantly, for making progress toward global emissions reductions. Senators Coons and Cramer understand this and are leading the way to bring more members on board.

We also heard from Marty Durbin, president of the Global Energy Institute and senior vice president of policy, U.S. Chamber of Commerce; Philip Bell, president of the Steel Manufacturers Association; and Michael Parr, executive director of Ultra Low-Carbon Solar Alliance on why industry is so supportive of this legislation.
