Dear friend,
Chances are, you know someone who is a survivor of domestic violence. Every minute of every day, 24 people in the U.S. are victims of domestic violence – with women being more than twice as likely as men to be survivors of these tragically life-changing events. Domestic violence doesn’t only impact survivors, but also their families and communities.
At ACCESS, we understand the importance of helping women rebuild their lives after experiencing domestic violence. That’s why on October 13, we are taking our annual domestic violence fundraiser to the next level, with a women-only brunch entitled “Turning Struggle Into Strength.” This event will support the exceptional programming we provide to help women and families take control back of their lives that domestic violence can damage or destroy. Our programming includes mental health recovery and justice through counseling, psychiatric services, case management, transitional housing, and legal services.
These services cannot continue without your support. There are many ways to contribute to our event. If you’re a woman, you can buy a ticket to gain strength as a survivor, or be an ally to one. And anyone can be a sponsor, or donate a table to survivors of domestic violence and their families, so they can also engage in this meaningful event.
The brunch on October 13 will be held at Byblos Banquet Center in Dearborn, from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. I hope you will join and/or support us in any way you can. Tickets can be reserved here. You’ll also find sponsorship information there, and I invite you to contact me to discuss sponsorship opportunities in more detail.
Domestic violence is a troubling reality of our world today, but together we can help survivors move beyond the tragedies they’ve experienced, with dignity and strength.
In gratitude,
MayAnn (Miyan) Sobh
