On Thursday, March 5, El Tendedero/The Clothesline Indiana, Women4Change, and the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault & Human Trafficking will take the voices of women who have been sexually assaulted to the Indiana Statehouse to create awareness among lawmakers of the extent of the problem. The goal is to create conversations that lead to legislation that defines consent.
Cards with handwritten responses to such questions as “Have you ever experienced sexual assault and what happened?” to “Where do you feel safe?” will be hung on clotheslines in the South Atrium. We will have more than 1,000 cards and at least one from each of the 92 counties in the state. Complete an online postcard at http://ow.ly/P0nZ50ynSay.
We’ll have a brief program from noon to 1 p.m. with key legislators, advocacy groups and survivors. Sexual assault, human trafficking and domestic violence survivors’ groups will exhibit.
Please take a moment to let us know you will be attending by registering below.
