Right now, the United Auto Workers (UAW) union is fighting against three corporate titans for better labor standards, and the climate movement is ready to stand with them. A fair transition to a clean energy future means building an economy that supports workers and communities.

But the Big Three automakers—GM, Ford, and Stellantis—want to drive a false narrative that says supporting clean cars is not in line with worker protections. This is just not true.

President Biden has already backed UAW’s position and indicated that he’s ready to fight for workers. Now it’s on us to amplify the message that the deployment of clean vehicles is inseparable from justice for the workers building them.
