John, despite multiple Republicans in both the House and Senate claiming no evidence to support impeachment, Kevin McCarthy announced his plan to move forward with the inquiry at the behest of the radical MAGA extremists in the House.
What's next?
This will serve as a measure to appease far-right Republicans like Rep. Greene, who has repeatedly stated that she would not vote to fund the government without an inquiry.
It is unclear whether or not there will be a formal vote on the inquiry as there may need to be more support in the House to move forward. Three committees have been directed, however, to carry on this path. Those committees are headed by Jim Jordan, James Comer, and Jason Smith.
