Here at the Long Run, when we think of changemaking pro-democracy candidates, there is no better example than Chris. He is Houston’s best candidate for City Controller and is best qualified to serve.

While serving as Harris County Clerk In the 2020 election, Chris fought to make a difference in one of the most critical elections of our lifetime. He stood up to Gov. Greg Abbott and won, protecting and expanding voting rights for 2.5 million Houston-area voters through innovations like drive-through voting, 24-hour voting, mail ballot tracking, and tripling the number of early voting centers. He led Houston to record voter turnout despite the ongoing global pandemic.

Chris is a fierce defender of our democracy and as Controller, he will combat fraud and abuse, help protect city government from state interference by Greg Abbott, and make the city government more efficient and effective.

Chris’ race might be local, but it is certainly mighty. He has shown what local government can achieve when new ideas and accountable leadership are met with real purpose.

But Chris is in a challenging race. He is running a grassroots-powered campaign and is counting on folks like you to help him get across the finish line.
