Tomorrow morning the House State Affairs Committee will try to silence your voice and your union by passing House Bill 1.

This bill would place burdensome regulations on workers who are union members, your local union, and your employer.

Tell the State Affairs Committee to Vote NO on HB 1 [link removed]

House Bill 1 is an attack on your constitutional right to join a labor organization. HB 1 would require your employer to annually confirm your desire to be a union member. The bill is an insult to educators and other union members by assuming they did not know what they were doing when they made the choice to become a union member. The right to join a labor organization as well as that organization's right to collectively bargain are enshrined in Florida's Constitution. The bill seeks to only undermine those constitutional rights.

The Florida Legislature has tried to attack us before only to see FEA grow stronger than we’ve ever been. This is their latest attempt to undermine your protections and your professional organization. Email the House State Affairs Committee [link removed] today and tell them to Vote No on HB 1!
