Hi John - I’m Brianna Titone.
I’m the proud Representative for Colorado’s 27th House District. In a second, I’m going to ask you to join me in support of the Colorado Democratic Party, [[link removed]] but first, I want to share with you a bit about myself and what we have at stake in this upcoming election.
I grew up in a small town with two hard-working parents who provided for my brother and me. They instilled in me the values of hard work, community, and respect for others.
Early on in my life, I saw the value of service. When I was 16, I joined my community fire department, where I served for 7 years as a volunteer firefighter during my high school and college years.
In 2017, driven to continue serving my community and advocating for important issues, I decided to run for the Colorado House, and won, flipping a red seat blue, becoming the first transgender lawmaker elected in Colorado history. My constituents re-elected me in 2020 and 2022, and now I’m running for re-election in 2024.
I probably don’t need to tell you how much we have at stake in 2024. From combatting the climate crisis and protecting our LGBTQ communities, to safeguarding our democracy, all of these and more are on the ballot in 2024.
As we see in states across our country, gay, queer, transgender, and gender-nonconforming folks are being attacked, demonized, and marginalized for short-term political gain. We are better than this. I know that when leaders work together to bring out the best in us, we find that there is so much more we have in common than what divides us.
The Colorado Democratic Party is determined to recruit and elect diverse candidates up and down the ballot who are devoted to public service and improving the lives of the constituents they serve.
