| John, My name is Alek Skarlatos, and in 2015 while traveling through Europe with friends from the Army, I helped to thwart a terrorist attack on innocent civilians by radical Islamic terrorists who wanted to kill us all. I did not stand up for my country -- or stand up to a terrorist armed with a gun, a jar of gasoline, and 270 rounds of ammunition for Nancy Pelosi to act like an ungrateful child, tearing up President Trump’s patriotic State of the Union speech live on national television. Pelosi claims President Trump shredded the “truth” – what truth? Nancy Pelosi’s truth is that she’s a multimillionaire from San Francisco who’s been a member of Congress since before I was born. Do you agree with me that our Commander in Chief deserves more respect than this childish behavior?  Written on those pages were the memory of American heroes, men and women who gave their lives so Pelosi could live free in this great nation –- and she tore their sacrifice to pieces. By tearing up the president of the United States' speech, Pelosi might as well have torn up my military service record. As a veteran, I am appalled. As an American, I am deeply disappointed that this behavior by the speaker of the House is accepted, even celebrated by the intolerant Left. I have seen the dangers of this world, and I have stood up for freedom in the face of terrorism. Which is why the anti-American actions by Nancy Pelosi following the State of the Union were unacceptable. Unlike Nancy Pelosi, my life’s mission has always been to serve and represent the America I know and love - the world’s bastion of freedom and economic prosperity.  I am taking that mission and putting it into action by running for Congress, by fighting against the radical-Left and their anti-American antics. I am demanding we begin respecting our President and country again, will you join me?
