Here is the Stand on the Word reading for today:

1 Corinthians 6-8 ESV | NKJV | AUDIO

Reflection Questions:

1) What type of ongoing behavior excludes a person from the Kingdom of God and what is the remedy (see 6:9-11)?

2) Even though the believers in Corinth were technically free to eat food that had been sacrificed to an idol, what principles come from Paul's encouragement to abstain (see 8:4-13)?

  1. Exercising our liberty in Christ could derail the faith of weak Christians who might misunderstand if they see us eating food sacrificed to idols
  2. Setting a positive example by abstaining shows that we love these weak Christians for whom Christ died
  3. Causing weak Christians to stumble is not only a sin against them but a sin against Christ
  4. All of the above
