As summer vacations fade into memory, we have a lot to celebrate heading into fall. As you’ll read in the latest edition of the Government Standard, we are close to finalizing the largest raise for federal employees in 40 years – on top of a major expansion of the locality pay system that will mean higher wages for tens of thousands of employees in both the General Schedule and Wage Grade pay systems. We’ve also blown past our organizing goal for 2023 – with nearly half the year remaining.

Sept. 14, 1959: Landrum-Griffin Act passed. The act establishes a Bill of Rights for union members, reporting requirements for labor organizations, standards for the regular election of union officers and safeguards for protecting labor organization funds and assets.
