Roem in 2019 became the first out trans state legislator to win re-election. Roem in May 2022 announced she is running to represent the newly redistricted Senate District 30, which includes western Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

Danica truly believes that government should be accessible and should work for everyone — not just the rich, powerful, wealthy, and well-connected. As a daughter of the district, she’s kept the PWC community at the forefront of her work — and has held more than 30 town halls to ensure residents have a seat at the table.

She’s passed more than 40 pieces of legislation in her time as a member of the House of Delegates, all with bipartisan support, to prevent child hunger and create quicker and greener communities — all while standing against legislative attempts from extremists on the right to interfere with abortion and LGBTQ+ equality.
