LindseyGraham.com I hope today, and everyday, we can honor those who died and
remember their families.
John,
Today especially, we remember the events of September 11th, 2001. A day that
shook the soul of America. I remember how I felt, a sense of uncertainty and
unpreparedness that we as a country have never experienced before.
Mad and heartbroken, I met with my staff at my home in Capitol Hill and just
watched the events of the day unfold. The American spirit did rise to meet the
horrors of the day. We saw the best of our nation’s firefighters and first
responders. We saw everyday Americans helping one another and providing shelter
and comfort amidst the duress.

I will never forget the brave men and women of United Airlines Flight 93 who
said, “Let’s Roll” in order to protect our Capitol from destruction. On this
Day of Remembrance, let us not forget their ultimate sacrifice and the spirit
they embody.
I hope today, and everyday, we can honor those who died and remember their
families.
Let’s say a prayer for all those who lost their lives that day, all those who
have sacrificed for the last 22 years, and let’s educate those who are too
young to remember that day about the consequences of America letting her guard
down. And let’s make sure as a nation this type of attack never happens again.
Thanks,
Lindsey Graham
