Folks,

It’s been 22 years since the unforgivable attack against our nation on
Sept. 11, 2001. It was a dark, dark day in American history—one that I’ll
never forget and a day I still think about often.

Today, I hope you’ll take a moment to join me in remembering those we lost
and hold a special place in your hearts for the families, friends and
loved ones who are still with us today. Let’s remember not only those who
died in the tragic violence, but also the brave first responders and
service members who stepped up in the aftermath to protect our great
nation.

So many courageous men and women made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our
freedom, and we owe it to them to recommit ourselves to building a safe,
peaceful and prosperous future for every single American.

I know today brings so much pain for so many people. But let’s also
remember that those who tried to attack and undermine our democracy did
not succeed. Instead, in the face of an indescribable tragedy, the
American people showed unforgettable strength and resilience.

Thank you
for joining me in honoring the lost, the fallen, and all of our American
heroes today. We must never forget, and we will always remember.

Sincerely,

Angela Alsobrooks
