Dear John,
I am writing to share that in celebration of Passport Awareness Month our office will hold a Passport Day on Sunday, September 17, 2023, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of State and the City of Waterbury.
The event will take place from 10am - 2pm at Waterbury City Hall and is open to all Connecticut residents who need assistance with renewing or applying for a passport.
Over the last year, there have been reports of increased processing time of 10-13 weeks for passports. The State Department is currently receiving approximately 400,000 passport applications each week.
Local events like this help streamline the process. This follows the Passport Day held in April at my district office, where over 100 passport applications were processed.
To schedule an appointment, please call 860-223-8412.
A limited number of walk-in appointments will be available. Please note, passports will not be printed on site.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our event. I hope this information was helpful and encourage you to share with anyone who may need assistance with a passport.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office for assistance with federal agencies.
