I remember where I was 22 years ago as tragedy struck the nation, and I am sure you do too.
I remember where I was 22 years ago as tragedy struck the nation, and I am sure you do too.
September 11, 2001 was a devastating day with effects we are still reeling from today.
The first responders who arrived on the scene within minutes continue to suffer respiratory diseases and cancer and just a few years ago had to fight Congress for healthcare.
About 40% of service members who served in Afghanistan have or will develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
And countless families, friends, and community members all across this country have lived with empty chairs at the dinner table for more than 2 decades.
In these past 22 years we’ve begun the hard work of rebuilding and we’ve discovered everyday heroes all around us who have stepped up to help us move forward. We thank them all.
And to the hundreds of thousands who lost their lives, first responders, servicemembers, and veterans we owe you an immeasurable debt of gratitude and commit ourselves to healing our nation in your honor.
