Why we are 350: Scientists overwhelmingly agree that 350ppm CO2 is the upper limit to sustain life as humans have lived it. For 800,000+ years atmospheric CO2 varied between roughly 180 to 280ppm.

ACE's Line 5 DNR Petition
The student members of ACE are planning to present the petition they began on August 19 in Madison to the DNR on September 15! They are aiming for 500+ signatures.
If you haven't signed yet and you're willing to help them reach their goal, YOU can sign it now and help the students hit their number! It only takes a minute!
Report on Madison from 350MKE member Chelsea here.
Line 5 carries a particularly nasty mixture of tar sands oil and additives - they literally boil strip-mined tar stuck in sand to separate the sand, then add thinners to the gooey hot tar so it will flow.
That's what's flowing through, and leaking from, Line 5 pipes at the Mississippi headwaters, Lake Superior tributaries, and Straights of Mackinac!
Read more at: THE PROBLEM WITH THE LINE 5 OIL PIPELINE
The WI DNR will determine whether or not to approve the permits for the pipeline to continue to pump oil through our state.
Let's end our dependence on fossil fuels,
end climate change,
and save our land and water.

Join us at the march to end fossil
fuels on September 17th in NYC
The United Nations is calling on world leaders to take real steps to lead us
off fossil fuels to protect people and the planet. On September 20th in New York, the UN Climate Ambition Summit will gather world leaders to commit to phasing out fossil fuels.
Thousands of us will take to the streets before the summit to demand President Biden take bold action to end fossil fuels.
Here is an Interest Form. If around 20+ people show interest in traveling by bus on the 16th and arriving on the 17th, marching, then getting back on the bus for a return trip on the 17th, we will coordinate with the organizers to book the bus. We will ask for a minimal price for people to secure a spot to attend.
If interested, please fill out the Interest Form. Once we reach a minimum level of interest, we will provide a link to purchase your ticket and further details about the trip including departure location, time of departure and itinerary.

Climate Week NYC
September 17 - 24
Climate Week NYC is the largest annual climate event of its kind, bringing together some 400 events and activities across the City of New York – in person, hybrid and online. Each year, business leaders, political change makers, local decision takers and civil society representatives of all ages and backgrounds, from all over the world, gather to drive the transition, speed up progress, and champion change that is already happening.
Climate Week NYC is hosted by Climate Group, an international non-profit whose purpose is to drive climate action, fast. Climate Group hosts the official program during the week that brings together the most senior international figures from business, government, civil society and the climate sector.
This year Climate Week NYC will be held from September 17-24, 2023. The event takes place every year in partnership with the United Nations General Assembly and is run in coordination with the United Nations and the City of New York.

350MKE Fridays for Future
Fridays from 12:00 - 1:00 pm
Chase & Wells Fargo Banks
Many banks (including Chase and Wells Fargo) are lending their depositor's money to fossil fuel companies to develop new fossil fuel production.
We want more people to be aware of this and hopefully change their bank or talk to the bank management!
We get honks and thumbs up from drivers and passersby. Some people stop and have a chat about what the banks are doing, or ask, "What is fossil fuel?"
We're alternating between two Chase Bank locations.
Chase Bank Calendar
We have signs, or bring your own!
Masks and Physical Distancing as appropriate
No protest Below 25F, Above 85F, Winter Advisory, Wet snow/rain (paper signs), AQI > 80
