Flight 93 went down at 10:07 am ET twenty-two years ago today.
The United Airlines flight plummeted 700 feet over the skies of Eastern Ohio before crashing in Pennsylvania.
There were 40 passengers covering a range of ages between 20 and 79. After hijackers forced them to the back of the plane, they reached out to loved ones on every device possible and learned that the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center had been hit.
They held a vote, and resolved to retake the plane. Their determined efforts to do so led to the cowardly act of terrorists deciding to crash the plane before it reached their planned target.
We will never forget those that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We will never forget the terrorist acts that led to carnage in New York City, New York, Arlington, Virginia and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
