Humphries PAM POLLARD The fabrication of news by KFOR MARK YOUR CALENDER State Board of Education September 28, 2023 Meeting BOB LINN America's Crisis in Focus This Wednesday, we will gather to hear from the most publicized, outspoken, and impactful school board member in Oklahoma, E'lena Ashley. She will bring with her a teacher from the Tulsa Public Schools who will add to the commentary. The loud cries from media, some political office holders, and the teacher unions, is the far-left's reaction to a well-designed strategy by state Superintendent of Public Education, Ryan Walters, to return moral and academic excellence to our schools and to return educational authority to the parent. Ryan will also be on hand to add comments and updates regarding the most recent media mis-information campaign. Also commenting on the complete fabrication of last week's news about Ryan Walters is RNC Vice Chair and National Committee Woman, Pam Pollard placed later in this newsletter. Pam, an ardent supporter of Ryan Walters, was misrepresented in the media's broadcasts. In the wake of our national educational holocaust, respected journalist Rita Kramer embarked on a nationwide study of the way teachers are trained. Kramer graduated with honors from the University of Chicago and studied English literature at Columbia. She reasoned that teachers are the frontline in the war against illiteracy and ignorance. She toured 15 university education schools from Columbia to Michigan to UCLA. More than thirty years ago, Macmillan published Ed School Follies by Rita Kramer. She interviewed students, faculty, and administrators and watched them teach in elementary school and high schools. Most of the teachers she interviewed believed that their job was not to hone academic skills but to acclimate students to multiculturalism, build their self-esteem, racial sensitivity, and social awareness. She concluded: Next to the media in general and television in particular, our schools of education are the greatest contributor to the “dumbing down” of America. They have been transformed into agencies for social change, mandated to achieve equality at all costs, an equality not of opportunity, but of outcome. In 1995, Samuel Blumenfeld wrote the introduction to Rushdoony's book, The Messianic Character of American Education. He wrote of the profound sense in which the philosophical premises of American public education was anti-Christian, anti-Biblical, and a threat to the survival of Christianity in America. Blumenfeld pointed to the secular trajectory of American education as having led us to academic moral, and spiritual decline. Of course, more than one of our founders stated that we have a form of government sufficient only for a Christian society. To a man, our founders knew that if America were to drift into secularism, the U.S. constitution would no longer suffice as a governmental document. Ivan R. Bierly of the Foundation for Economic Education noted the downward spiral in our schools when he said: “The prevailing faith about the nature of man in educational circles is that he is the highest form of animal life. He goes on to say that “As the prevailing concept of man has changed from God-centered to man-centered, he must either delegate his decisions to others or himself play God.” Among the many examples of the drift to secularism in American academia is G Stanly Hall. He was a Harvard educated psychologist, educator, atheist, and Darwinist. He founded the American Journal of Psychology. In his Recreations of a Psychologist, he wrote: “Animals are our elder brothers and are far better adopted to their conditions that man has yet learned to be. Many species are our direct ancestors, and all are our cousins.” Edmund A. Opitz was a Congregational minister with an interest in the cultural ramifications of Christianity. He was an exceptional intellect and served for many years on the staff of the Foundation for Economic Freedom. He was also a founding trustee of the Acton Institute. Writing the introduction to Rushdoony’s Intellectual Schizophrenia, he states: The crisis of our culture comes into one of its focal points in education. Then, to sharpen the point a bit finer, he continues by stating that Education, in the fullest sense of the word, is Christian education … "secular education" brings together ideas which are at least anomalous [abnormal], if not downright contradictory … The homemade heaven he tries to fashion on earth – in totalitarian lands – resembles an old-fashioned hell. He aspires to the role of deity and reverts to sub-humanity. The so-called public school system in the United States stems from … dubious philosophy. As a system of education supported by taxation and compelling attendance it was bound to veer toward secularism and statism. French critic, Ernst Renan observed: Countries which, like the United States, have set up considerable popular instruction without any serious higher education, will long have to expiate their error by their intellectual mediocrity, the vulgarity of their manners, their superficial spirit, their failure in general intelligence. There is no doubt that America’s drift into secularism has become the bane of contemporary civilization. When Italian intellectual, Augusto Del Noce spoke of cultural suicide, he addressed specifically the atheistic foundations which dehumanize mankind. Secularism robs man of his inherent, divinely imbued, qualities and points him into a schizophrenic intellectual pathway ending in oblivion. Del Noce, in his The Crisis of Modernity, notes a stunning statement from the French writer and journalist, Jean Cau: Let us wonder with icy lucidity, whether the future will not be Nazi, whether the prophet of the times to come will be neither the Jew who was born in Galilee [Christ] not the one who was buried in London [Marx] almost two thousand years later, but a man with a large mustache who died crazy and devastated by his own vision: Friedrich Nietzsche, the philology professor. Let us wonder with the cold eye of a clinician, whether Nazism was not the only consistent answer to the proud proclamation of the death of God. The final consequence of humanism, which thought naively that it could set man free (by emptying him of the sacred). When French intellectual, Cardinal Henri de Lubac wrote his The Drama of Atheist Humanism, he spent quite a bit of time discussing Dostoevsky. After discussing elements of Dostoevsky’s novel Demons, de Lubac summarizes: By this, Dostoevsky means to suggest that "social systems which have no Christian basis (the only ones capable of transforming man) inevitably become systems of violence and slavery." Dostoevsky’s dominating idea is that to kill God in man is to kill man himself. In closing, allow me to quote an optimistic theological perspective which I share with Dostoevsky and which de Lubac appreciates as well: Dostoevsky saw the divine sun setting on the horizon of our old Europe. He did not hail the coming of the night as a triumph. But he did not despair either. He believed that Europe would return to Christ. No doubt, he shared the vision of the prophet Micah: It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established and many nations shall come, and say: ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths. ~ Micah 4:1,2 We are in desperate need of returning our nation and our state to Biblical foundations. Thank you for your activism. _________ This Wednesday's luncheon! 11:00 AM Doors open 11:00 AM Lunch Available NOON to 1:15 PM Meeting Oklahoma History Center 800 Nazih Zuhdi Dr., OKC, OK 73105 God bless! LAST WEEK AT OCPAC FOUNDATION Note from Bob Linn Howard Lichtman's ideas of human civilization are contrary to the concepts of government held by the OCPAC Foundation. They are also in direct contradiction to orthodox theology and the Biblical text from beginning to end. While most of the information he presented is well established and of vital importance, the anti-government theme he employed throughout runs contrary to my own closely held position in the realm of Biblical theology. God ordains the nations (Acts 17:26) and treats them in many ways the same as he treats people. While evil (sin) is found within each of us, God is working to redeem and sanctify us. He does this also with nations. It is why, in Matthew 28, he told the Church to disciple the nations. Matthew 28 represents more than his mandate to the Church as His divine means to fulfill his promise to Abraham, the father of the nations (Genesis 12-50, Romans 4:13-18). Micah made the love of God to the nations clear: It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established …and peoples shall flow to it, and many nations shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” ~Micah 4:1, 2 At the end of time, God will gather the nations as they bask in His light: Its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb … the glory of God gives it light, and the lamp is its Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. ~Revelation 21:22-26 I really, really like Howard Lichtman, but I serve the King of kings. Howard’s governmental posture is antithetical to God’s sovereign design. To hear him repeatedly state that posture in our meeting left me profoundly troubled. It is troubling to hear contempt toward the things of God spoken. It is troubling to hear disobedience to the divine eschatology for mankind advocated. Because of Howard's background, he represents those who crucified Christ and for whom Jesus prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (John 23:34) I say all of this because it was done under my watch and I am responsible. Otherwise, Howard’s presentation was well done. In the end, we are a 501(c)3 educational foundation, so to allow opposing views is not out of line. My note to Howard: Howard, let's stay in touch and discuss the Biblical canon, the extraordinarily limited options for ultimate presuppositional positions, and their corresponding and equally limited epistemological options! God bless you, Howard! Watch, his presentation using Godly discernment and Biblical eyesight. Watch the entire program here. ______ J.J. PAM POLLARD FABRICATION OF NEWS by "NEWS" 4 by Pam Pollard I attended the "Special" called meeting of the OK Ethics Commission meeting last Thursday September 7. Because it had originally scheduled for the next day, it was called a “Special Meeting.” I attended for the sole purpose of speaking during the Public Hearing regarding ERC 01, agenda item 6. I was calling for a review of current ethics rules for political party committees. The original request was sent to the commission on Jan 11, 2023, by letter from the Oklahoma Republican Party. It had been further endorsed by the Chairs of the Democrat and Libertarian parties. In March, the commission agreed to review the rules regarding Political Party Committees and set a timeline for Public Hearings. This meeting was our second hearing on the issue of Commission rules. In introducing agenda item #6, Director Ashley Kemp spoke about taking additional public comment "on this topic." She asked if the time allowed would be sufficient. She was speaking directly to agenda item #6. Political Party rule review was very clearly the "topic" and timeline she was referring to. Her comments had absolutely nothing to do with Ryan Walters or his case before the ethics commission. To assume otherwise is either ignorance or the intentional misleading of public opinion to accommodate the reporter's own agenda. Let me clearly say, only the members of the Ethics Commission know what items were going to be discussed in Executive Session at that meeting. To create an entire report based on the assumption this was a "special meeting" about Ryan Walters is misleading to the public. The agenda clearly states the "Cases" in Agenda item 9 are about violations to Rule 2. Violation of filing deadlines and late filing fees are addressed in Rule 6. It is a very far stretch to assume the 3 "Complaints" in agenda item 9b are about Rule 6 violations and specifically regarding Supt. Ryan Walters. With over 150 state elected officers and more than 600 county officers accountable to the State Ethics Commission rules, saying this meeting was about Ryan Walters is at best misleading. I noticed KFOR's truck in the parking lot and the TV camera set up in the back of the room. I formed my remarks knowing it could be broadcast through the media. I was made aware on Friday morning, September 8th, that I was shown in a report by KFOR on several broadcasts throughout the previous day (Thursday) after the conclusion of the ethics committee meeting. I reviewed the report on KFOR website titled, "Oklahoma Ethics Commission investigating several campaign finance violations by Superintendent Walters" I found this report to be misleading. KFOR's assertion that Ryan Walters was one of the 3 cases discussed in the Executive Session is reprehensible. As a supporter of Ryan Walters, to have my image as part of a hit piece, is misleading and personally offensive. Nothing about this reporter’s story has any merit. I know because I was there! The public deserves better, and KFOR knows better. Let's go back to reporting and not fabricating our news stories. Facts not Fiction.
