Twenty-two years ago, unimaginable tragedy was inflicted on our nation.

The world seemed to stop. We watched the Twin Towers fall, we saw the Pentagon attacked, and then heard the news that another hijacked plane had crashed into a Pennsylvania field.

Nearly 3,000 lives were tragically lost on 9/11, and over 6,000 people were injured. In the following years, we’ve lost many more first responders due to medical conditions developed through their heroic service in search and rescue operations.

On this Patriot Day 2023, we remember those we lost, thank those who put their lives on the line to save others, and pray for peace for the loved ones left behind.

Today, let us renew our resolve to NEVER FORGET.

Thank you for allowing me a moment to share my thoughts today, as we remember those lost, those hurting, and the brave heroes who acted selflessly to save countless lives.
