At the time of Survival’s founding in 1969, many experts predicted that all tribal people in Brazil would be wiped out by the end of the century. Not only did that not happen, but now, fifty-four years on, there are believed to be more uncontacted peoples across the world than ever thought. It is a testament to the resilience of Indigenous peoples – and to the determination of their allies like you – that they have survived.
But they still face huge threats. The fight for their survival is far from over, and our work will, unfortunately, still be needed for years to come. If you are coming to write or update your will, we ask that you consider leaving a gift for Indigenous peoples all over the world.
