Let's put things into perspective this week:



Tomorrow, Treasury will deliver the Pre-Election Fiscal Update, unveiling the true state of Labour's handling of the economy.



As we have seen so far on this campaign, Labour will have plenty of spin doctors and unions ready to throw mud, but the reality is their economic mismanagement has meant New Zealand is the only country in the Asia-Pacific region in recession.



Remember, while tonight’s poll puts us ahead, MMP elections are always close.



The potential Labour-Green-Te Pāti Māori Coalition of Chaos is a real risk.



Here's what recent statements reveal about their out of touch approach:





- Labour: "Our economic fundamentals are in good shape" - Chris Hipkins, 5 September 2023.

- Greens: Campaigning for higher income tax, high company tax, a Wealth Tax, and a Trust Tax.

- Te Pāti Māori: Proposing to abolish prisons by 2040 - announced on 9 September 2023.



This election the choice is clear.



Only a strong, stable National-led Government has a plan for the future that will rebuild the economy to reduce the cost of living and help you get ahead, restore law and order and improve our schools and healthcare.
