Literally no one is happy with the current system for immigration and refugees, but Republicans refuse to do anything to fix it. It's been a decade since bipartisan legislation that passed the senate overwhelmingly was blocked by republicans in the House, and they've not lifted a finger since then to do anything meaningful on this front — even though Democrats have offered all kinds of solutions since then. Add your name, and tell Republicans to stop blocking immigration reform. Republicans are more than happy to whip up hate over the issue, and to propose jackasstical ideas such as a wall (which sounds sensible, until you remember that ladders exist, as do airplanes). The American people support a broad approach that combines border security with a logical, humane, and economically sensible approach to those looking to come here. Democrats have offered no numerous proposals to do this, and it's time for Republicans to get on board. Add your name, and tell Republicans to stop blocking immigration reform. |
