Hey there, it's Katie Porter.
You may know me as the woman who brings props (like a whiteboard!) to Congressional Hearings to help hold the powerful accountable.
But when I first got to Washington in 2019, my mentor and former law professor — Senator Elizabeth Warren — called me to ask how things were going, and I shared that I was struggling to see how I could make a difference and live up to the promise I had made to voters to shake up Washington.
About a month later, Elizabeth called again. But this time, I had a couple of Congressional hearings under my belt, and I had found ways to hold the CEO of Equifax and the CEO of Wells Fargo accountable. I had asked the tough questions and got real answers for the American people. The Wells Fargo CEO even resigned shortly after the hearing. Elizabeth said to me, “you found your voice. Don’t ever stop using it.”
Now, I’m running for the U.S. Senate so I can continue using my voice to stand up for working people, stop corruption, and continue working with Elizabeth to make our government work for working people. Can you support this fight by making a contribution that will be split between our two campaigns? |
