Last call for RSVPs to Saturday's Organize to Win Summit. We've got people coming from all across the state to network, organize and mobilize to make change, and we have an outstanding lineup of speakers to inspire and energize the crowd.
Among them are two teen climate activists, one of whom spent the early part of her childhood in Honduras while the other stands to become the youngest elected official in the nation on April 7. We'll also hear from an Iranian-born immigration lawyer, a steelworker and worker rights advocate, and a single mom struggling to hold on to health care coverage for herself and her autistic children. The latest addition to the lineup is Congressman Mark Pocan. We just found out this week he'll be able to join us.
I was on the Devil's Advocates radio show yesterday talking about Saturday's summit and all the reasons why we need to organize and mobilize and work to transform our politics, our state and our country. You can listen to the interview any time as a podcast.
Our latest post on our Revolutionizing Wisconsin blog answers the editor and publisher of The Capital Times, who insists Bernie Sanders is unelectable because he's convinced most Americans won't vote for a socialist. He's forgetting something . . . and someone.
The Janesville Gazette recently published another of our blog posts as a guest commentary on the subject of electability. It's fascinating—and frustrating—how so many people judge electability based on assumptions that are no longer valid. You'd think what happened in 2016 and who ended up in the White House would have disabused them of those assumptions, but they persist. So we still have our work cut out for us.
Hope to see you Saturday as we get to work.
