Sorry for the weekend email, John. I’ll try to keep this update short.

September 30th marks the end of our third fundraising quarter. After this deadline hits, our fundraising numbers will go public. That means everyone -- from my opponent Mike Garcia to the political media -- will get a clear look at the progress we’re making.

Our campaign continues to build local support by meeting voters face-to-face about the issues impacting our community -- from reducing drug costs, to protecting reproductive rights, and defending Social Security and Medicare from cruel cuts.

Meanwhile, the biggest decision Mike Garcia is facing this week is whether or not to go along with his MAGA allies in Congress who are now threatening to shut down the government if their extreme demands aren't met.

The contrast in CA-27 couldn't be starker. We're fighting for the people. Mike Garcia is playing partisan games that threaten our livelihoods.

The good news is that voters are taking notice. The Cook Political Report recently moved CA-27 to “Toss Up” due the momentum we’re building. We have a chance to unseat the last remaining House Republican in Los Angeles County. But doing this is going to take widespread, grassroots support.
