Air Force secretary blasts Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville: "No experience in the military"
Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall blasted the military promotion blockade spearheaded by impressive ignoramus and first-term Sen. Tommy Tuberville, lambasting the hundreds of military promotions and nominations on indefinite hold in retaliation for reproductive healthcare policies the ex-football coach doesn't care for.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump gets unwelcome surprise at Iowa football game
The serially indicted con man stopped by the annual Iowa-Iowa State football game for what he obviously thought would be a hero's welcome, and things didn't go exactly according to plan.

Michigan Republicans elected an election denier as their new leader and she's coming for our voting rights
Promote the Vote: Kristina Karamo is the new leader of Michigan's GOP, and when it comes to attacks on truth and our rights, she's giving Trump a run for his money. With no evidence, she claims there is illegal voting that cost her an election last year and blames “left-wing anarchists” for... well... everything. She has no business leading a major state party, and she is a threat to voting rights in Michigan and beyond. Fortunately, the group, Promote the Vote, is doing the work to ensure that our voting rights remain sacred and secure — but they can't do it alone. Can you chip in a few bucks to ensure they have the resources to protect election integrity in the key swing state?
New Mexico governor issues order suspending the right to carry firearms in public across Albuquerque
New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued an emergency order over the weekend suspending the right to carry firearms in public across Albuquerque and the surrounding county for at least 30 days. Grisham said she expects legal challenges but was compelled to act because of recent shootings in Albuquerque, including the death of an 11-year-old boy outside a minor league baseball stadium this week. Contrast Grisham's actions with the official policy of the GOP, which has spent decades doing everything in its power to accelerate the unfettered flow of deadly firearms into the hands of killers, and ask yourself what Republicans actually mean when they scream "FaMiLy VaLuEs!"

Florida accepts conservative, Christian-backed test as alternative to SAT, ACT
Students applying to Florida's state universities will now be able to submit exam scores from a watered down, conservative, Christian-backed alternative to the SAT and ACT championed by real-life Disney villain and floundering presidential candidate Ron DeSantis in his never-ending war on "woke indoctrination," whatever that means. The Classic Learning Test (CLT), launched in 2015, is most commonly taken by students who are in private schools or home-schooled and, until now, was primarily only accepted at small, private, faith-based colleges. The test is an hour shorter than the SAT and ACT, does not require a written essay, and includes math questions below high school grade level. What could possibly wrong?

G20 leaders rebuked for latest "incomprehensible failure" on climate crisis
Climate groups cried foul Saturday after an agreement generated at the G20 summit in New Delhi, India failed to see the world's wealthiest bloc of nations make anywhere near the kind of climate commitments — namely an agreement to phase out fossil fuels — required to address the planetary emergency fueled by greenhouse gas emissions. Greenpeace described the lackluster pledge as an "incomprehensible failure" in the face of a runaway climate crisis that continues to wreak havoc, death, grave injustice, and economic disaster for working people across the globe.

Prominent, right-wing activist’s son convicted of storming Capitol and invading Senate floor during Trump's failed insurrection
Leo Brent Bozell IV, the son of Media Research Center and Parents Television Council founder Brent Bozell III, has been convicted of charges that he stormed the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, bashed in a window, chased a police officer, invaded the Senate floor, and helped a mob disrupt the certification of Joe Biden's presidential election victory. Or as Republican Rep. and man with incredibly straight face Andrew Clyde once described it, "a normal tourist visit." Play the dumbest games, win the dumbest prizes.

Elon Musk bloviates over California bill aimed at protecting trans kids
Oh, good. Elon is taking more time away from stripping Twitter down to the studs to share his not-very-nuanced thoughts on trans rights. His latest target? A new bill — which is currently on its way to Gov. Gavin Newsom's desk — that encourages parents to affirm their child’s gender identity and compels judges to take each parent’s stance on the matter, along with many other factors, into consideration in custody cases. Or as fearmonger Musk tells it, "if you disagree with the other parent about sterilizing your child, you lose custody.”
Gov. Gavin Newsom puts 2024 presidential speculation to rest: "Time to move on"
For the umpteenth time, the California Democrat put to rest any speculation that he would mount a challenge for the Democratic nomination in 2024. Newsom sent yet another direct message to donors wondering if the nominee will be someone besides Biden on NBC's Meet the Press, flatly stating, "President Biden is going to run" and he's "looking forward to getting him re-elected."
Rolling Medicaid purge called "largest concentration of health insurance loss" in US history
States across the US have stripped nearly 6 million people of Medicaid coverage over since April, creating what healthcare activist Beatrice Adler-Bolton described as "the largest concentration of health insurance loss in American history." And while these deeply troubling procedural disenrollments are predictably taking place in red-dominated states, it's not strictly a Republican-led purge. Medicaid recipients in California, Rhode Island, and New Mexico are also losing critical coverage at a quickening pace.
