We’re here to talk about EagleAI: a new tool that extremists are potentially deploying to further suppress the freedom to vote in Georgia.

Here’s some background: Last month, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and NBC News reported that far-right extremists are weaponizing this new private software as a potential tool for ramping up mass voter challenges — and they’re currently seeking contracts with Georgia election officials.

EagleAI markets itself as a program that can comb through voter rolls and other public databases and flag any alleged “discrepancies” for elections officials, enabling them to make it easy to challenge voters’ registrations. To make matters worse, it has been reported that Jason Frazier, an election-denying conspiracy theorist who has challenged nearly 10,000 Georgians’ voter registrations, was involved in the software’s development.

Here’s why it’s an issue: This is yet another extremist attempt to silence the voices of voters ahead of critical election cycles. We haven’t forgotten the efforts to challenge more than 360,000 Georgia voters before the 2021 Senate runoffs. Since then, with the passage of SB 202 in 2021, we’ve continued to see a staggering number of mass voter challenges filed — amounting to 1 in every 70 Georgians. So far, the overwhelming majority have been dismissed due to faulty evidence.

Experts say that EagleAI does not offer improvements on existing bipartisan tools that help states maintain their voter rolls, and will open the door for thousands more erroneous voter registration challenges. It will also require elections officials to take time away from their vital roles in running elections to investigate these unfounded challenges

Here’s what we’re doing about it: We’re fighting back against extremists’ nationwide strategy to make administering elections more difficult and intimidate voters. No matter the hurdles we face from these extremists, Fair Fight will remain steadfast in our commitment to help voters stay registered, access the ballot box, and ensure their votes are counted.
