For too long, Republicans have used every tool at their disposal — specifically the filibuster — to stop our progress and continue putting profits over the needs and values of the people.
Common sense laws like codifying abortion rights, raising the minimum wage, banning assault weapons, and even protecting voting rights have been held at a stand-still. We cannot allow this to continue.
Our legislative system has ground to a halt under the Jim Crow-era filibuster. So it's crucial we rid our democracy of this practice once and for all. We must call Congress to abolish the filibuster so that we can pass common sense legislation that finally answers the calls of the people. Will you add your name today?
In 2020, we saw the highest voter turnout in American history for a presidential election. And this time around, Republicans will do everything in their power to silence voters, strip away our rights, and use their dark money to sway election results in their favor.
By ending the filibuster, we can work to get dark money out of these elections and ensure arbitrary voter suppression laws are a thing of the past. And we won't just stop there, John.
