Friend — the fight over NEPA is only getting bigger — but we need your help, and we need it now.
Here's the situation: Trump has proposed a massive change to the National Environmental Policy Act, directing federal agencies to ignore climate change effects and limit public input when approving highways, pipelines, and other federal projects.
It's set to be one of the most damaging and far-reaching environmental decisions of Trump's presidency, sidelining frontline communities and silencing communities of color.
Tuesday was the only the second, but also the final, public hearing on the change — and we
raised hell.
Now, there's a short window for public input to keep up the heat. We need to make every moment count — that means rallying serious pressure before the comment deadline early next month.
Here's the thing — after weeks of must-win environmental fights, resources are tight.
We're asking every LCV member to pitch in before Sunday. A donor is triple matching every contribution right now — even $5 can make a big difference.
Please: Rush an EMERGENCY donation to the League of Conservation Voters. Every donation helps in this fight »
Individuals from across the country spoke in opposition to the NEPA rollback. Many speakers representing disenfranchised communities and communities of color spoke about the impacts of ports and goods movement, pipelines, nuclear projects, and oil and gas and affiliated chemical facilities.
The Trump administration pulled in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to wade into the fight. The Chamber is pouring money into a campaign to finalize Trump's rule to dismantle this bedrock environmental policy.
We won't allow this administration to silence people. This was the FINAL hearing before the rule takes effect.
We will NOT back down.
Before it takes effect, there's a short window for public input.
We need your help.
If everyone reading this right now pitched in — even just $5 — we'd blow through that goal in minutes. Please, triple your impact — but do it today »
I hope you'll pitch in friend — we literally can't do this work without support from our members.
Thank you for all your support.
