Virginia is known for three things: the Blue Ridge Mountains, being the “Mother of Presidents,” and our off-year elections for the state legislature. With such important federal elections happening next year, national pundits have their eyes set on Virginia for any indication as to how they’ll turn out.

With no statewide office at the top of the ticket this year and the control of the General Assembly at stake, it’s important that we’re able to mobilize our supporters to turn out the vote this year. But that also means we need to focus on the issues we know voters care about - abortion access, common sense gun safety, and funding our public school system.

As a teacher by day and candidate for State Senate at night, my time to talk to voters is limited. I rely on our tv commercials to get our message out and show voters that I will continue to work for them in Richmond.
