Lesko Meetings

It was great to meet with the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce and discuss the latest from Congress! I gave updates on the Save Our Gas Stoves Act, deregulation efforts, tax policy, border security. American energy independence, and the looming threat of China.

I attended the posthumous Purple Heart Ceremony for David Shapiro, a World War One veteran. David’s son, Fred Shapiro, accepted the Purple Heart on behalf of his deceased father.

I was also able to present Fred with a Congressional Recognition for his service to our country as a U.S. Army paratrooper during the Korean War.

Lesko Legislation

I’m proud to have introduced the Protect Our Kids Act to incentivize the hiring and training of school resource officers. American children deserve the highest level of safety when they step into their classrooms.

GET THE FACTS: Gas Prices

It’s no secret that under the Biden Administration, gas prices have continued to rise. As of September 8, 2023, the AAA national average was $3.808 and in Arizona it was even worse at $4.345. The Phoenix metro area is even worse. This past week I paid $4.45/gallon in Peoria. Families across our state are struggling, and President Biden’s war on American energy is only making things worse. As the August Congressional Recess ends, my Republican colleagues on the House Energy and Commerce Committee are ready to fight back against Biden’s radical climate agenda and restore American energy independence! We must tackle this cost-of-living crisis head on, starting with energy

Around the District

James reached out to our office for assistance in retrieving his replacement service medals. Our district office was able to coordinate with the National Personnel Records Center to retrieve the service medals for him. It is an honor to serve our veterans!

Michael and Ashley from Team Lesko were guests at the recent American Legion Post 94 meeting in Sun City West. They spoke to the Legionnaires on how our Office can assist veterans with federal agencies and provided an update on military and veteran-related legislation.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office after her husband passed away, and she could not get in touch with the Social Security office for survivor benefits. Several months passed, and she hadn’t received the funds available for one-time funeral assistance. Our office contacted the Social Security Administration on her behalf, which resulted in the constituent receiving the benefits owed to her!
