The American Dream is the promise that if you work hard, you can live a better life than the one you were born into. Political and economic freedom are essential for creating opportunity.

This means expressing political views without censorship or Government intimidation. It means building a business in a safe neighborhood, where everything you sell isn’t looted off the shelf. It means being about to buy a home and raise a family. It means your kids are safe at school and are taught reading and math, not CRT.

The Left’s new version of the American Dream is a total nightmare: a Soviet-style two-tiered system of justice, government censorship, rampant crime, unaffordable housing, and a degenerate education system.
Housing Nightmare
Becoming a homeowner is the aspiration of millions of Americans. Yet the current economic policies of the Left — policies that Biden is happy to take credit for, calling them “Bidennomics” — stands in the way of those aspirations. “Bidennomics” has caused the monthly mortgage payment on a median-priced home to more than double, costing families an additional $13,000 per year for the same house!

This is a direct result of federal government spending <[link removed]>. Too much money in the economy created inflation, forcing interest rates higher and making mortgage rates reach for the sky.

For the American Dream to live, the government’s spending addiction must die. Congress is rapidly approaching the October 1st deadline to fund the government. Biden's Fuel Rule
But the Left’s assault on the American Dream doesn’t stop with housing. Joe Biden — the regulator-in-chief — is doing his best to make cars unaffordable too! He is using the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) to implement another regulation in his second attempt to kill gas cars by 2032.

If this regulation is implemented, it will impose near impossible fuel efficiency standards on cars that will destroy the market as it tries to meet those standards. Here’s how Biden’s gas car regulation would affect you:


- Vehicle quality, including safety, will suffer
- The cars and trucks you currently buy will be discontinued
- You’ll pay more for less



Biden is grinding the American Dream between the gears of his regulatory machine, but we can break those gears and set it free.

These regulations are subject to a public comment period, and cannot be implemented until every comment received is returned with a written response from the administration. This means that a flood of comments can slow down a regulation or even get it canceled. The last gas car regulation was met with 16,000 Heritage Action grassroots comments.

Democrats Can't Handle the Border Truth
Not even a year ago, Democratic Mayor of New York City Eric Adams committed himself to the typical Democrat position of offering sanctuary to illegal immigrants who had crossed the border. Now, he is seeing the absolutely crushing effects that policy is having on his city, going so far as to say it will “Destroy New York City”.

Mayor Adams warned the city council saying “It’s gonna come to your neighborhoods. All of us are going to be impacted by this [illegal immigration].” He is correct. Illegal immigration creates a drain on local resources, putting financial strains on local middle and high schools, police departments, hospitals, and public assistance programs. In the state of New York, it costs them $9.9 billion a year.

Yet Democrats continue to invite migrants, many of whom don’t have homes, don’t have jobs, smuggle drugs, and even smuggle other people.

This issue won’t destroy just New York, it will destroy every community unless we secure the southern border.

Congress, with the power of the purse, has a unique opportunity next week during the appropriations negotiations to reduce the size of the federal government and demand that policies from the Secure the Border Act (H.R. 2) are funded.

In Case You Missed It
Don’t Tread on Me

You may have heard the name Jaiden Rodriguez in the past two weeks. If you have, you know that Jaiden is a 12-year-old Vanguard School student who was told that he could not wear his “Don’t Tread on Me” Gadsden Flag patch to school “due to it’s origins with slavery and the slave trade.”

That statement is not only historically illiterate, but the school’s attempt to suppress freedom of speech perfectly portrays the kind of censorious mentality of the modern Left. They don’t want a culture of rights. They want a culture of falling in line.

In response, Heritage Action, in coordination with other conservative activist groups, organized a rally in support of Jaiden outside of his school. Conservatives showed up waiving the Gadsden flag to show the school that they inappropriately used their authority, and that conservatives will not back down.

Grassroots Support for Tuberville

Since the DOD decided to use taxpayer dollars to fund abortions and related expenses (travel to states where it is legal, lodging, etc..) for their service members and families, Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama pushed back by putting a hold on DOD nominations until their anti-life policy is rescinded.

While the Left pours pressure onto Sen. Tuberville to fold, Heritage Action Sentinels across the state of Alabama have been showing their support for Tuberville’s defense of Life.

There is no right without first the right to life. It is our hope that the unborn will get a chance to have dreams and live them out. That is why we support Tuberville, and why the majority of Alabama voters <[link removed]> support him as well.
