Team Young enjoyed catching up with the new Chino Hills Police Captain Al Girard at Coffee with the Captain. This was a fantastic opportunity for the community to meet the new captain to discuss improving public safety and community relations. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

This week, I joined our Rancho Santa Margarita community in mourning the loss of Richard Reese, the urban planner who made his vision of an "urban village" become the Rancho Santa Margarita we enjoy today. We honor his life well-lived and lasting contributions to CA-40.

CA-40 Veterans: The PACT Act is giving Veterans who served in combat zones a special enrollment opportunity to directly enroll in VA health care by midnight on 9/30.

As Chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Indo-Pacific Subcommittee, I was proud to lead a bipartisan delegation to show our partners in Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia that we will work with them to keep the Indo-Pacific free and open.

Strengthening our relationships with partners in Southeast Asia is essential to counter growing threats from adversaries. We had productive conversations on rising threats in the South China Sea, shared security priorities, and promoting free trade and human rights.

I look forward to sharing our conversations with my other colleagues in Congress and am hopeful these discussions will lead to bipartisan collaboration to ensure America continues to lead in the Indo-Pacific.

Attention all CA-40 Veterans! VA Long Beach, the OC Veterans and Military Families Collaborative, and the Tierney Center for Veteran Services is hosting a Veteran Stand Down and Resources event in Tustin on September 13th at 8 am.

This month is Passport Awareness Month and we hope to ensure that all travelers are as prepared for international travel in 2024 as possible. We encourage constituents to check their passport's expiration date and apply for a new or renewal passport 9 months prior to travel.

Also we recommend having your passport in hand before booking international travel. Many countries require six months of passport validity to enter, so we recommend applying 6-9 months ahead of expiration date or travel. Learn more about your destination at travel.state.gov/destination.

Due to an unprecedented volume, appointment availability is limited nationwide. Processing times are estimates and do not include mailing and internal routing process which can add up to two weeks.
