Something extraordinary is happening in Philadelphia, John.
WFP’s Kendra Brooks, the first third-party councilmember in modern city history, is putting together a broad coalition to wrest control from local Republicans once and for all.
In the last week, she’s been endorsed by labor unions representing more than 50,000 members across Philadelphia — including teachers and school support staff, higher education faculty, nurses and healthcare professionals, municipal government employees, and service industry workers.
On Wednesday, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro also hopped on Kendra’s train of supporters1 — defying corporate Democratic Party leaders who warned party officials they could be expelled for backing WFP candidates in November, to endorse her:
Kendra is reaching across movements, and even factions of the Democratic Party that have been splintered for so long, to transform local government and get things done for working people.
We know we can win this race — but with less than 60 days until the General Election on November 7th, Kendra needs all of us to have her back right now. Will you make a contribution to Kendra Brooks' campaign to help re-elect her as Philadelphia’s WFP councilmember?

Kendra wants Philadelphia to lead the nation in local, transformative policy-making that supports youth, houses neighbors, empowers workers, and provides communities with all of the resources they need to thrive.
And as we learned this week, she’s managed to forge a broad coalition of supporters on this vision.
Her race, which could have major implications for third-party politics in the U.S., is one of the most closely watched this fall — but it’s going to take all of us, organizing across our differences, to ensure Kendra remains a powerful voice for working people in Philadelphia’s City Council.
Can you make a contribution to Kendra Brooks’ campaign today to help cover the costs of canvassing, texting, phone banking, and all of the organizing that’s needed to reach voters across Philadelphia and win this election in November?
In solidarity,
Working Families Party
