Greetings, We hope you have had a great week! Congressman Kim and our office celebrated Labor Day over the long weekend to honor the American worker as a pillar of our local New Jersey communities and who we are as a nation. Congressman Kim works to uplift their voices, rights, and is proud to stand by their side to bring fairness and equal opportunity to all workplaces. As we finish up the first week of September, Congressman Kim was eager and excited to welcome the start of another school year. He looks forward to continuing to meet neighbors around the district and bring their conversations into his work in Congress. As always, we hope you find these updates and resources helpful. August in Action! We were proud to share our casework team’s hard work assisting our Burlington, Mercer, and Monmouth Counties through issues with federal agencies. In August, our office returned $952,813 and closed 388 cases for our community. We look forward to continuing to help our neighbors resolve issues with federal agencies as best we can. As they work tirelessly to keep up with increased demand, he is glad this grant funding will be there to help Bordentown Township firefighters continue providing excellent, selfless service while staying safe and protecting our communities. Congressman Kim Visits Open Door in Freehold This week, Congressman Kim visited Open Door in Freehold to learn more about how we can support their work helping neighbors in need. With a food pantry, after school programs, and more, we are proud to work alongside local efforts like this to combat hunger and meet local needs. Open Door also provides on-site assistance with signing up for health insurance and SNAP benefits. Congressman Kim continues to protect the SNAP program in Congress to ensure this help is available to our community. | Congressman Kim Visits OTC in Burlington Congressman Kim also spoke with the Occupational Training Center (OTC) in Burlington about ways to support adults living with disabilities in New Jersey. The Congressman appreciated the opportunity to hear how he can support their work providing people with job training and opportunities, as well as tools and resources that make sure they have what they need to succeed. | A Community Focus on “People & Stories” Since 1972, People & Stories/Gente y Cuentos has connected neighbors through discussion, reading groups, adult education programs, and with literature.
