John –

Dan Crenshaw here. As we prepare for Congress to return to session next Tuesday, I used this week to highlight some of the major energy and healthcare policy failures of the Biden Administration which absolutely must be addressed before it’s too late. I also continued speaking out against the social contagion of “gender-affirming care” which is causing lifelong physical and mental suffering to thousands of minors.

Over the past 5 years of my service in Congress, contributions from supporters like you have made it possible to share our time-tested conservative principles with millions of Americans. Now more than ever, we need to fight back against the far-left's attacks on the truth and values which created and sustained the miracle of America. Any donation, no matter how small, that you contribute to my re-election campaign will help me continue our mission to save this great country for the next generation.

Now, here’s your campaign brief:
BIDEN JUST MADE IT HARDER TO TRANSPORT CLEAN, AFFORDABLE NATURAL GAS ACROSS AMERICA
Add this to the long list of Biden’s attacks on American energy: he just reversed Trump’s policy that allowed for liquified natural gas (LNG) to be shipped by rail.

While rail hasn’t been a primary way to ship LNG, there’s just no good reason to reverse a Trump-era policy that would have given LNG companies more flexibility when transporting their product — except to appease radical environmentalist interest groups like the Sierra Club.

Here’s why this matters: As natural gas production continues to grow, companies will need to transport it. By preventing LNG from being shipped on rails it is possible that we actually see an increase in accidents involving LNG transported by trucks.

It’s simple: Natural gas provides dispatchable, affordable energy with much fewer emissions than other forms of fuels. In fact, natural gas is the primary reason we’ve been able to reduce emissions in America.

Average Americans are concerned about high energy costs, decreasing energy security, and general economic uncertainty.

Yet this administration is far more concerned with addressing the priorities of radical far-left environmentalists rather than those of average Americans.

Democrats should work with Republicans to pass legislation making it easier — not harder — to produce, transport, and utilize natural gas.
EVEN DEMOCRATS ARE SPEAKING OUT AGAINST BIDEN’S CANCELLATION OF THESE ALASKAN ENERGY LEASES
On Wednesday President Biden canceled 7 Alaskan energy leases that were granted during the Trump Administration — the same week that oil prices topped $90 a barrel for the first time since November 2022.

This move will have almost zero impact on global emissions. But it will hurt American energy security and contribute to rising prices at the pump.

Even Democrats like Alaska’s Rep. Mary Peltola called the cancellations unlawful and harmful to the Alaskan Native Communities who are losing out from these canceled leases.

An administration that actually cared about America’s energy sector would:

1. Fast track permits for new oil & gas projects.
2. Open additional leases for exploration and production.
3. Rollback overzealous regulations and red tape.

Instead Biden has proven time and time again that he would rather destroy good-paying energy jobs, decrease our energy security, and exacerbate high fuel costs for Americans.
BIDEN’S PRICE CONTROLS ARE KILLING FUTURE MEDICAL INNOVATIONS
The Biden Administration recently announced the first 10 drugs subject to the big government price controls under Medicare negotiation. The so-called “negotiation” is really anything but negotiation. It’s just the government killing future medical innovations and raising long-term costs. That’s all.

Under the new law, selected drugmakers are given a timeline to accept the lowered government price. Make no mistake – the government holds all the cards and will tax the innovator to death at 95% of their U.S. earnings if they don’t comply.

If all the drugs that were ever going to be invented had already been invented, if all the cures already existed, then one *might* make a moral case for price controls.

But that’s not the case. We have a dire need for constant new innovation. What incentive will companies have to spend billions on research if they get the rug pulled out from under them?

In fact, a 2022 University of Chicago brief estimates a total $663 billion dollar loss in research and development investment, leading to at least 135 fewer medications.

On top of that, the Congressional Budget Office finds that so-called negotiation will “increase the launch prices for drugs that are not yet on the market relative to what such prices would be otherwise.” In other words, the price of new cures will go up for everyone else.

So how do we lower drug prices? Innovation and competition. Let the free market work. That means creating a more streamlined regulatory process for over the counter drugs, removing anti competitive barriers to generic drugs, and expediting our approval of low cost, biosimilar alternatives to the costly biologics driving up drug costs. It seems like a simple idea, but price controls will only decrease access and increase health care costs over the long term.

To be clear, much of Big Pharma will do just fine with Biden’s rule. They’ll shift manufacturing and investment to “safe” drugs with known return on profits. Nothing new will be invested in.

Small biotech startups trying to cure cancer? Good luck. Now, no one will want to invest. They’ll just start disappearing.
RISING TRENDS OF MINORS TRANSITIONING ARE FUELED BY SOCIAL MEDIA AND RECKLESS DOCTORS
I recently introduced H.R. 3887, which would ban program funding for children's hospitals that perform gender-transition therapy/surgery on minors. This bill is how we, as legislators, can fight back against this lunacy plaguing our medical institutions.

This should be an easy bill for my Democrat colleagues to support. As I noted in my recent op-ed for Newsweek, none of them would seriously declare that they believed any of this harmful pseudoscience nonsense about “gender-affirming care” for minors even 10 years ago.

Watch the clip above to learn more about my bill and hear Chloe Cole’s powerful testimony before Congress about the grotesque manipulation she experienced as a 12-year old girl from doctors, psychiatrists, and online peer pressure.

I challenge any of my Democrat colleagues to look Chloe in the eyes and tell her that her decision to begin taking puberty blockers at 12, and get a double mastectomy at 15, was not driven by a social contagion that's promulgated on the internet and reinforced by reckless doctors who fall back on unscientific studies to defend their atrocious actions. This madness has to end, and my bill is an important first step.
