We cannot afford to fall off the path to cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030.

Congress is under enormous pressure to reach a deal and avoid a shutdown, which means that anything could be on the table. Input from the environmental movement could make or break a final deal and determine the future of climate action. So we’re asking:

When Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act last year, it was a transformational accomplishment towards our goal of addressing the climate crisis. Clean energy incentives are creating good-paying jobs building clean energy technologies like wind turbines, heat pumps, and electric cars while reducing emissions. Undoing this progress would be a nightmare for our environment, our climate, and our economy.

That’s not all, Friend — the cuts that extreme MAGA Republicans are demanding would also leave the federal government unable to address pollution in overburdened communities, meet our environmental justice goals, and protect federal agencies’ capacity to ensure basic environmental protections.
